History of Dunnington Fayre
Dunnington Fayre was resurrected in 2007 by a group of volunteers who wanted to organise a village community event to be held on Dunnington Playing Fields.
The first year attracted approximately 1,600 people to the fayre day, with additional evening entertainment. By 2009 the fayre became a 4 night event including, comedy night showcase youth bands, summer bbq and family disco and live music as well as the main fayre day on the Saturday. 2010 saw a 20’s/30’s/40’s night along with lots more.
By 2014 the fayre had grown even more, however due to the diversity and restrictions of The Playing Fields the decision was made to move to a new venue. Mr Gary Kay’s field, off Eastfield Lane – named “Eastfield Showfield”, became the new venue providing an additional parking field which is a great asset with the growing numbers of people attending. This also gave the flexibility to turn the event into more of an agricultural day.
